Snowsafety course for winterhiker teach basics for avalanches. During the course you learn how the avalanche ground is looking and learn the signs of snow and environment.
Exercises of safe routeplanning by map and also in the fells and how to rescue a friend by avalanche equipment.
Instructor is a wilderness guide Oula Niemelä whose specialities are nature adventures in an arctic wilderness. Oula is also Finlav avalanche instructor.

Safety thinking
Decision making by avalanche card
Reading of weather and avalanche forecasts
Basics of routeplanning by map and fells
Map, GPS or cellphone using to locate
Using avalanche equipment and friend rescue exercise

Back country- or forest skis and skins or snowshoes
Avalanche equipment (piper, shovel, sonde).
