Skis are chosen based on the weight and height of the skier. Choose a ski that is suitable for your weight class. The length of the ski should ideally be slightly longer than the skier, but the correct weight class is more important than length. The S-Bound Crown Dual Skin skis have a fastening system for both short and full-length climbing skins (available for rent separately). Both skis have a scale base in the grip zone.
Climbing skins are particularly necessary when pulling a sled or in icy conditions, for example. For day trips, you can usually manage without climbing skins.
