Step back in time as we hike through the stunning gorges of Kiilopää in Urho Kekkonen National Park, carved by the immense forces of the Ice Age. This guided tour will take you out of the marked paths where we’ll explore dramatic ravines and learn about the geological processes that shaped them thousands of years ago. Along the way, we’ll stop at key locations where you’ll gain insights into how glaciers carved out deep gorges and left behind the majestic scenery that makes the Kiilopää area so special today.
There are numerous little canyons in the surroundings of Kiilopää, created by the last ice age. Depending of the day we explore some of these gorges around: Latvakuru, Poliisikuru, Ihanakuru, Rumakuru, Pessinkuru, Kettukuru, Aurinkuru, Kuutamokuru, Kirkkokuru and many more. Take a guided day trip to explore them!
